"Down here at Cape Spartel is the celebrated cave of Hercules, where the hero took refuge when he was vanquished and driven out of the Tangier country. It is full of inscriptions in the dead languages, which fact makes me think Hercules could not have traveled much, else he would not have kept a journal."

"Frog Eggs" Pretty Much Covers It

Hello, world! This will be rather short, in terms of words. Yesterday we went across the border to Germany for the day, where we had a quick burst of beautiful spring weather! We took a boat ride around Königssee (see = lake in German), were surrounded by mountains, and there were no swarms of tourists as there are in summer. Pictures are the closest way to give you a glimpse of it all :)

On the road...

The inside of our boat...

From the ship, we looked at...

Once on the ground, we saw...

From the ground looking up, we saw...

On a smaller lake nearby, we saw frog eggs from above...
water level...

and below...

A little ways off, we found a few more...

And a beautiful tree close to where we stopped for dinner...

While we were looking at the frog eggs, we also saw the frogs, but they refused to have their picture taken (must be some legal thing). On the way back, we went into one of the cute shops where the boats dock, and I found Bazooka bubblegum! There was a Girl Scout song...

greetings brought to you from germany,
mary beth
